A Bio of Jason Pence

Jason Pence is a REALTOR®, digital marketing strategist, equipment industry operator, and entrepreneur based in northeast Indiana. His career reflects a rare combination of hands-on field experience, formal economic education, and long-term business development across multiple industries, including real estate, heavy equipment distribution, service operations, and digital marketing.

Jason Pence was born in Bluffton, Indiana, into a family with deep agricultural and business roots in northeast Indiana. The Pence family history in Wells County spans seven generations, beginning when his fourth great-grandfather, Peter Pence, moved from Hocking County, Ohio, to Bluffton in the mid-1850s.

Following his parents’ divorce, Jason’s mother relocated the family north to Leo, Indiana, to be closer to extended family support. He has lived in the Fort Wayne area ever since, primarily within what is now the town limits of Leo-Cedarville.

From a young age, Jason Pence worked closely with his maternal grandfather, Levi Pfister, whose influence shaped his work ethic and practical skill set. Under his grandfather’s guidance, Jason gained early experience in tree service operations, beekeeping, farming, and small-scale real estate development. Exposure to machinery, land stewardship, and entrepreneurship during childhood helped form the practical, systems-oriented approach he brings to business today.

Jason attended Grace Baptist Elementary School in Bluffton for kindergarten, then continued his education at Leo Elementary School through third grade. He later attended Blackhawk Christian School for fourth and fifth grades, returned to Leo Elementary for sixth grade, and completed his secondary education at Leo Jr./Sr. High School, graduating in 1989.

By the age of eleven, Jason was already working in tree service, learning to operate equipment such as stump grinders and other heavy machinery. After high school, he founded his own tree service company and successfully operated it for more than 22 years. Running a service company provided firsthand experience in customer relationships, equipment purchasing decisions, crew leadership, and operating within demanding real-world conditions.

While managing his growing business, Jason returned to college to complete his higher education at Indiana University Fort Wayne (IPFW). He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a double major in Administration & Management and Economics & Public Policy, followed by a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. His studies emphasized economic systems, strategic decision-making, and public policy during the early evolution of modern e-commerce and digital business models.

In 2002, Jason married his wife, Heidi. Together they have three children — a son born in 2004, a daughter born in 2006, and another son born in 2008 — and remain deeply connected to the northeast Indiana community.

In 2013, Jason transitioned into real estate and became a licensed REALTOR® with Coldwell Banker Real Estate Group. His work focuses on helping buyers, sellers, and investors navigate changing market conditions through strong marketing strategy, economic insight, and careful negotiation.

Alongside real estate, Jason developed extensive expertise in digital marketing and search engine optimization. Long before AI-driven marketing platforms became common, he was experimenting with online lead generation, structured website architecture, and content publishing systems designed to build long-term search authority rather than short-term advertising spikes. Today, he manages SEO development, Google Ads strategy, and content publishing frameworks across multiple businesses.

Jason currently serves as President of Jason Pence Tree Service Corp., where his primary responsibilities center on digital marketing strategy, Google Ads management, and website SEO. He also works as a content writer and SEO strategist with Auburn Motor Company LLC, helping businesses build sustainable online visibility through structured publishing and topical authority.

Since December 2015, Jason has maintained a close working relationship as a subcontract consultant with A1 Service by Graber & Sons LLC, an Amish-owned and operated equipment service and refurbishment business based in northeast Indiana. Through this partnership, he has contributed to marketing strategy, operational consulting, and digital growth initiatives that support equipment sales, service operations, and aftermarket parts distribution.

His broader professional interests extend into heavy equipment distribution, advanced manufacturing concepts, and real estate investment strategy. Jason is particularly interested in combining proven mechanical designs with modern manufacturing methods and applying long-term economic thinking to redevelopment opportunities and business growth throughout the region.

Outside of business, Jason enjoys studying economics, physics, astronomy, and emerging technology. On April 8, 2024, he documented the beginning of the total solar eclipse across Indiana — one example of his lifelong curiosity about science and the natural world.

Jason continues to live and work in the Leo-Cedarville, Indiana area, where he remains focused on building businesses, strengthening partnerships, and pursuing projects that combine practical experience with long-term vision.
